How remote drum studio works....

Remote recording is easy. The following is a guide to how it works:

Approval and Pricing

Before the execution of each session, I will need to hear your song. You can email a reference mix to me, an mp3 is fine. With this, please include a written guide to what is required from the drums. Please make these notes as specific as possible including details such as the type of drum beat, the placement of fills, required sounds, references to similar tracks etc. Where necessary, also include transcriptions and existing drum tracks. Please include the tempo of the song. Please note at least fifty percent of the fee is required before recording takes place, or the total amount. This will be negotiated.

Creating Your Tracks

If possible, bounce all the individual parts (bass, guitars, keys, vocals, click track etc.) and send them as mp3s or WAVs; if this is not possible then please send your full track but without drums. If you are using a recent version of Logic then you can simply save your session and send it, remembering to include the basic named audio files.

Uploading Your Tracks

Once the first payment has been made you will be invited to dropbox and you can download the tracks.

Musicality and Decision Making

I will play what I think is the best sound, feel and musicality to accompany your music. Using the references you have sent I will decide what is the best approach to take and which is the best performance.

Final Approval and Payment

Once the recording session is complete I will send a basic stereo mp3 for your approval. This is to ensure that everything is to your satisfaction; it is not the final product. Following your approval, full payment will be required.

Using the Tracks

I will sign a general release form for the recorded tracks. This release can be generated by you or can be the standard issue if needed. The tracks are to be used for the given composition only. Loops or samples of these tracks can be used for other recordings if agreed to and released. Credit for recordings and sample/loops must be given for all versions of the recordings on product liner notes.

One Track Offer = £15

This will include just one version of the drums tracked to your Song. A full mix of the drums is included. Every other approach will cost you another £15. So if your liner notes are detailed enough you can save a lot of money.

If not, you might look into the other options.

Payment will be required in full upfront.

Full Day in my Studio with my Drums = £150

An 8 hour day can include up to 3 full tracks and can include hand percussion if needed. A single approach will be taken to each track.

Full Day in your Studio with your Drums = £200

An 8 hour day can include up to 3 full tracks and can include hand percussion if needed. A single approach will be taken to each track. Travel expenses will be additional.

Full Day in your Studio with my Drums = £250

An 8 hour day can include up to 3 full tracks and can include hand percussion if needed. A single approach will be taken to each track. Travel expenses will be additional.

The first 10 miles free, after this 50 pence per mile will be charged.

Loop Session = £50

A loop can be up to 8 bars in length and will include percussion if required. The final loop will be provided as a stereo WAV – the multi-tracks may be extra.
